The Beast & Nnenna Freelon Give Us A Taste Of 'Freedom'

When this first video from Freedom Suite, the new project hosted by 9th Wonder by jazz singer Nnenna Freelon and hip-hop/progressive jazz group The Beast, dropped last week, little did we know that this would become the gift that keeps on giving. As you can see in this video for "Freedom Part 2", the music is hot, the message is dope and the concept is positive, but it gets better. Directed by Napoleon Wright II,
the "Freedom Part 2″ video is a documentary following  The Beast et al as they volunteer and perform at the nonprofit organization SEEDS, an organization that teaches youth how to plant, grow, harvest and sell crops in their own urban communities in Durham, NC. All the proceeds from the performance were donated to SEEDS to assist with their work. Talk about giving back. And for you, the soul music lover, you get something, too. You get to download this goodie, along with the song "Rise Beyond the Sky,"
a live re-arrangement of Lauryn Hill's classic, "Doo Wop (That Thing)" that features Rapsody and SoulBounce fave YahZarah, before the entire album is set to drop October 26th on The Beast's Bandcamp page. After you listen to your gift, tell us what you think. We think you'll be pleased.
