Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings' 'Game' Never 'Gets Old'

With yet another nod to a time when singers still wore three-piece suits, director Philip Di Fiore deliver a brilliantly directed short film, entitled "Game Gets Old: The Trilogy" chronicling funk/soul purists Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings' song of the same name and tying it together with videos for the album's first two singles. The video, presented in three parts, perfectly visualizes the grit, passion and authenticity of the group's fourth album, I Learned The Hard Way. Here, the late-'60s and early-'70s soul revivalists transport you to a pre-Auto-Tune era, invoking Blaxploitation imagery by shooting with the style and equipment used in that period. If the Dap-Tone/Dap-King vibe sounds familiar, it's because the Mark Ronson collaborators were heavily featured on Amy Winehouse's classic, Back to Black. See Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings revisit the glory days of soul.
