Is There Any 'Saturday Love' For Keke Wyatt & Ruben Studdard?

It seems like remakes are in vogue nowadays, and Keke Wyatt joins the trend with not one but three on her upcoming June 14th release, Unbelievable. Which is cool -- after all, we were first introduced to Keke when she collaborated with Avant on an updated version of Rene & Angela's "My First Love" back in 2000. However, one of her new remakes on tap is of Cherrelle and Alexander O'Neal's "Saturday Love," otherwise known one of my favorite duets of all time. Keke teams up with American Idol champ Ruben Studdard on her version and proves that every song does not need to be remade. This version is adequate at best and unnecessary at worst. Furthermore, I know that this is Keke's song, but Ruben blows her out the water. The Velvet Teddy Bear sounds like sweet cream butter when he starts singing Alexander's verses. His presence makes this song and honestly makes me more excited to hear more new music from him as opposed to her. Will this version make me throw up my hands and scream "That's my jam!" like I do when the original comes on? Not at all. And the video? In a nutshell: Keke looks good thicker and Ruben has slimmed down, but that's the extent of how interesting this clip is.
