Los Charly's Orchestra Leave Us 'Feeling High'

Soul music compilations are a hit or miss affair generally, however if there is one name you can always rely on to deliver the goods, it is British label Expansion's Soul Togetherness series. Their 2011 collection features songs from SoulBounce favorites Rahsaan Patterson, Debórah Bond, and Reel People as well as some artists and groups yet to appear on these pages. I came across Los Charly's Orchestra while giving the compilation a spin and a little digging informed me that the orchestra is a project created by the two Venezuelan producers Juan Laya and Jorge Montiel, whose sound blends the disco, funk & soul of the '70s with a modern Latin edge. They released the six-track EP, The Groove & its Synonyms, earlier in the year and first single "Feeling High," which features Australian singer Amalia Economos, is sure to be burning up dance floors the world over before year end. Check it out below and grab the full EP from the link provided.
