Soul Foodie: Take Your Time With 'The Panties' Passion Fruit Bellini

Soul Foodie Soundtrack: Mos Def "The Panties"

Like a tight lyric over the right beat, every meal has its perfect complement. And what goes better with good food than a good drink? Since man mixed his first drink, there has always been a love affair with the simple cocktail. One such is the bellini, which is traditionally made with sparkling wine and peach puree, but it's only fitting to give it a sexy hip-hop twist. Inspired by one of Mos Def's most sensual songs, The Panties Passion Fruit Bellini builds on the traditional recipe, adding more flavor to the mix. Much in the same way Mos married hip hop and soul in "The Panties" from 2004's The New Danger. And if alcohol isn't your thing, you can substitute ginger ale for the same palate-pleasing effect. Either way, this cocktail is quick and easy to make and its sweet and fruity profile will have you begging for another round. Cheers!
