SoulBounce Makes The 'Ebony' Power 100

Christmas has come early for us here at SBHQ with news that SoulBounce has been named to Ebony magazine's annual Power 100 list. To say that I was speechless upon hearing this incredible news would be putting it lightly. But then upon realizing the gravity of this honor, I screamed like I had won the lottery. This is quite an exciting distinction to be listed in this Power 100 alongside a who's who of Black America, including President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lenny Kravitz, Jennifer Hudson, Esperanza Spalding and a few of our online sistren and brethren, Afrobella, Very Smart Brothers, The Fashion Bomb, Shadow and Act, and Black and Married with Kids, to name a few.

It's hard to fathom, but right there on pages 112-113 of the December 2011/January 2012 issue is an awesome blurb written about SoulBounce. It reads: "Looking for some under-the-radar tunes to refresh your playlist? Check here for the best. Forget about the rest." Wow. Just WOW. This list was complied by various individuals so I'm unsure whom exactly to thank for writing such kind and accurate words, but if that person is reading this, thank you for understanding and appreciating SoulBounce's mission and for giving us this shine in Ebony. The staff of SoulBounce is honored and humbled by this selection. Thank you to all of the artists who inspire us and who we call faves, friends, and family and to every SoulBouncer out there who listens to, believes in, and supports good soul music, the artists who make it, and those of us who write about it.
