Ever since she arrived on the scene with her 2002 debut, Come Away With Me, Norah Jones has breezily shrugged off the neat little labels that we sometimes try to affix to artists. Despite being pegged primarily as a jazz artist, her ever-growing list of collaborators frequently crosses over into other genres, including (but certainly not limited to) country music (Dolly Parton), R&B (Ray Charles), hip hop (Q-Tip), and alt rock (Foo Fighters). After lending her vocals to three tracks with the equally genre-bending producer Danger Mouse on last year's Rome, the two are kicking things up a notch with a full-length album, Little Broken Hearts, set to drop this spring on Blue Note/EMI. A true collaboration through and through, the album features original songs co-written and performed by Jones and the Gnarls Barkley co-founder. While there's no definite date on when exactly we'll get our hands on this sure-to-be delectable treat, consider this SoulBouncer's anticipation stoked.
