Jessie Ware Is About To Be 'Running' Things

British vocalist Jessie Ware first came to our attention last year via her work with SBTRKT and Sampha, and she is poised to stay there this year and beyond with her debut album on the way and with songs like "Running" leading the charge. The next single following her first, "Strangest Feeling," is both retro and current as is its accompanying video, which gives a nod and a wink to the sophisticated '80's style of none other than Sade (the woman and the band). Named The Guardian's "New Band of the Day" this past Tuesday, the newspaper calls her the British answer to Aaliyah, which you can kinda hear on "Running," but Ware possesses a sound all her own. Her voice is clear and powerful here as she sings about being infatuated with someone atop an electro soul bed laid by producers Julio Bashmore and Dave Okumu. I am personally infatuated with this video, which I have had on repeat for the past hour -- and the day is still young. Watch for yourself and get caught up in Jessie Ware's musical rapture.
