We haven't coupled the word "new" with the name "Esthero" in a mighty long time, but that's officially changed with the release of the song, "Never Gonna Let You Go," the first single from her forthcoming album, Everything Is Expensive. Esthero posted it to her new YouTube channel late last week via a video that simply has her name and the song title scribbled next to a beating heart (not a human one!) with a knife through it and the occasional droplet of blood dripping. That image fits perfectly with the lyrics she sings about refusing to let someone go and threatening bodily harm to get her point across. This music is upbeat and almost has a throwback '60's girl group vibe to it, but it sounds more Gwen Stefani than it does Esthero. Needless to say, this wasn't exactly what I was expecting from the woman who brought us Breath From Another and Wikked Lil' Grrrls. Check the song out after the bounce, and if you're feeling it then you won't have too much longer to wait to own it because the single will officially be available for purchase from digital retailers on June 5th.
