Anytime I catch a glimpse of Stones Throw DJ/producer DâM-FunK I get a bit of a tingly feeling. My first assumption would be the subconscious effects of this player's luxurious perm, but after a few bars of his music, and a quick scalp check, it becomes perfectly clear: Nostalgia is a powerful thing. Even if you weren't old enough to enjoy this brand of funk in the 1980s, you've most definitely grown up on music heavily influenced by this era. Well DâM steps out of his time machine once again to offer us "Peace," an unreleased track with his trademark sound. This bassline driven tune comes in at just below seven minutes, but various synth solos throughout the mix manage to keep things fresh. After asking for fan feedback on Twitter, it appears as though the tune will be included on his next 12". Stream the track below before picking up the physical copy scheduled for an early 2013 release.
