Dre Kay Gives Us A Glimpse of 'Tomorrow'

It's always exciting when two artists join forces to create something altogether different from what they've done solo. Singer Kenny Allen, or K'Alyn, best known for his work with Meshell Ndegeocello, and producer/musician Dre King, who's worked with Sy Smith and Raheem DeVaughn, have united for their project Dre Kay. After dropping their freEP FromTheVault over the summer, the duo is gearing up for their self-titled release. Our first look comes in the form of a video for "Longing for Tomorrow." The track is such a great mix of jazz, soul, R&B and hip-hop elements and the video perfectly captures the hopeful yet pensive lyrics of the song. Directed by fellow artist W. Ellington Felton, the clip captures Kenny lounging in his solitude as he sings the bossa nova-tinged track. No word is out on when we can expect Dre Kay to be available, but I have a feeling that if we keep an eye on the duo's Bandcamp page, it'll show up sooner or later.
