Hiatus Kaiyote Get Remixed On 'Tawk Takeout'

We introduced to the Melbourne, Australia based group Hiatus Kaiyote a few months back when we deemed them Bounce-Worthy. Since then they've gone on to get the thumbs up from Questlove, Erykah Badu and, well, just about everyone whose ears have been blessed with their future soul sounds. As if Hiatus Kaiyote hadn't already proven to us with their debut album, Tawk Tomohawk, that they are the embodiment of the future soul movement, they now give us the gift of a remix album, Tawk Takeout. Presented by Wax Poetics, this compilation delivers all kinds of innovative, avant-garde takes on the luscious sounds featured on their debut. Featuring the handiwork of Shafiq Husayn and silentjay among others, this album is definitely one to add to your playlist, and at the budget friendly price of free, you have no reason not to start your weekend off with the experimental treasures of Tawk Takeout. Standout tracks for me include Willow Beats' remix of "Ocelot," Mark de Clive Lowe's re-working of "Malika" and Kirkis' synth and bass heavy remix of "Nakamarra." Have a listen to the entire project below, and then hit download to take yourself on an other-worldly musical journey.
