I was already familiar with UK-based producer/multi-instrumentalist Positive Flow from his contributions to various Tokyo Dawn Records compilations, but I wasn't prepared for just how great his TDR debut would be. Over the course of the album's 15 cuts, PF takes us on a journey through future soul, house, funk, jazz and even a little broken beat, consistently delivering top-notch tracks alongside some serious vocal talents. It's refreshing to see that PF has chosen to showcase plenty of UK talent on Flow Lines, with appearances from Omar (who has guested on everyone's project this year), TDR regular Colonel Red, Heidi Vogel, Sharlene Hector and Vanessa Freeman, amongst others. Early favorites are the Omar-assisted "My Prediction," with its sight's set firmly on the dance floor, and the laid-back groove of "In The Garden Of Your Life," featuring the criminally underappreciated Freeman. You can listen to snippets of all the album's tracks after the bounce, then head on over to the TDR site to bag yourself a copy.
