Rudimental Ask 'What You Won't Do' For Your 'Baby'

Rudimental had quite a 2012, at least in their native UK, where their two singles, "Feel The Love" and "Not Giving In," fared well on the charts and gained them major radio support from a host of BBC Radio DJs. Tastemaker Zane Lowe invited the quartet to perform a live session at the BBC's Maida Vale Studios at the tail end of last year and, along with a few special guests, they delivered quite the performance. Naturally they performed their two singles, both of which feature the vocals of John Newman, and you can see the live footage of those after the bounce, however it was a new track, "Baby," which caught my attention. Replacing John Newman with vocalist Joel Compass and with assistance from MNEK and Sinead Harnett, the track opens with an interpolation of the Bobby Caldwell classic "What You Won't Do For Love" handled with ease by Joel, before breaking down into an original uptempo number with vocal interplay between MNEK and Sinead. I just hope that this track makes an appearance on their debut album, Rudimental, when it drops in February.
