'So' The Foreign Exchange Will Release A Remix Compilation & New Album This Year

What's that sound you hear? Oh, that would be the dancing feet and soul-clapping hands of fans of The Foreign Exchange who today not only received some wonderful news from the +FE camp but also a new track to get us moving and grooving. Phonte and Nicolay have been dropping hints about their upcoming projects on social media for the past couple months, but today we got the official word about their soon-to-be-released remix compilation, +FE Music: The Reworks, and forthcoming fourth album, Love In Flying Colors. The Reworks is scheduled to be released on February 26th as a two-disc set, and it features a bevy of remixes from Nic, +FE Music artist Zo!, 4hero, Questlove, James Poyser and many more. Also on The Reworks will be this brand new song, "So What If It Is," which signals a sonic switch from the darker tones of Authenticity and takes listeners on an eight-minute long soulful house joyride straight to the dance floor. Phonte croons about not letting life's trouble consume you while Carlitta Durand and Damaris Fletcher assist on background vocals atop Nicolay's synth-heavy electro-fied soundscape. The Foreign Exchange are known for switching their musical styles up from one album to the next, so if this is the direction that Love In Flying Colors is going in, then I'm all for it. Clear some room once you press play, and make haste to download this song from the +FE Music website to ward away the daily doldrums.
