D'Angelo & Questlove Take Us On A Journey To 'Africa'

If you were one of the lucky folks who got to see D'Angelo and Questlove's two-man Brothers In Arms set at Brooklyn Bowl this past Monday, then I hate you. Not to rain on your euphoric experience, but I was one of the ones who wasn't fast enough to secure a ticket to the once in a lifetime performance. Good thing that the folks from the Okayplayer family have my back. Yesterday, they released a video of D and Quest performing The S.O.S. Band's classic "Tell Me If You Still Care." Today, the folks at Okayafrica give us a taste of the live rendition of D'Angelo's own "Africa." The song lends itself to the stripped down performance as D, sounding as good as ever, plays its lush chords and Quest keeps the rhythm on lock. I only wish that OKA had gotten the cover of Prince's "New Position" that I heard the duo played just before going into this track -- but you know how the Purple One can be about his music and the Internet. Anywho, join me in playing this video over and over again as I pretend that I was actually in the crowd for this stunning performance.
