Justin Timberlake Gives Us A Look At His 'Mirrors'

It wasn't my intent to turn SoulBounce into Justin Timberlake Central for the past two weeks, but when you're hot you're hot and JT is on fire right now. His new album The 20/20 Experience officially hit stores yesterday, and it's on track to do big numbers despite the week-long leak and so-so reviews. After last week's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon takeover, JT got bumped up to prime time last night with a special on The CW that was recorded on Monday night at his album release concert at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the special was part performance/part interview and later in the program viewers got treated to the world premiere of his video for current single "Mirrors." This music video premiere wasn't quite the event that a Michael Jackson video premiere was back in the '90s, but it brought back a little nostalgia to the good old days. The visual itself traversed across time following a couple from their footloose and fancy free youthful days to their twilight years. The love song may have been penned for his wife Jessica Biel, but Timberlake dedicated the video to his grandparents William and Sadie who were married for 63 years until his grandfather's death last year. With that in mind, it gives the otherwise confusing video some context. Justin himself doesn't appear until the video's second act when he pop locks his way around a room filled with fun house mirrors and Lady Gaga-lite lookalike dancers. It all makes for an interesting, if lukewarm, watch. I'm looking forward to Timberlake bringing the heat with subsequent singles and videos.
