Terrace Martin Gives Kendrick Lamar's 'Poetic Justice' A Sax Makeover

Kendrick Lamar won me over after seeing him perform on Saturday Night Live in January and then again on the Late Show with David Letterman just last week. His skills on the mic are undeniably nice, but it was actually the total package with the live band that set off both performances for me. And there was one band member in particular who appealed to me the most with his saxophone playing: Terrace Martin. I have to honestly say that he has made every live performance of "Poetic Justice" for me that I've seen. Clearly I'm not the only fan of his live work on this track, and Mr. Martin believes in giving the people what they want with this "Sax Mix" of Lamar's "Poetic Justice." Featuring a sample of the chorus from "Poetic Justice," which itself samples Janet Jackson's "Any Time, Any Place," Terrace's sax takes the spotlight here in this perfect blend of hip hop and jazz. The best news of all, besides the fact that this cover even exists, is that TM is giving this joint away for free download. Click here to get the goods.
