There has certainly been no shortage of big-voiced females coming out of the UK of late. I won't reel off the list again, but if you are a regular visitor to this site you will know what I am talking about. Something in the water? That might just be true. The latest to make it on to our radar is 21-year-old Harleighblu who, recently signed to Tru Thoughts, is hard at work on her debut album, Forget Me Not, due out this summer. This week she unleashed the album's first single "Enough Now" as an exclusive on Mistajam's BBC 1Xtra show and, by all accounts, it went down an absolute storm, so much so he played it back-to-back and the requests have been pouring in ever since. She cites the likes of Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill and Floetry as influences, and, while it's clear she is making music that has the same essence as those artists, I think she has an original vibe and a killer voice that could set her apart from the pack.
