J. Cole Is Ready For 'Summer'

With Born Sinner dropping June 25th, J. Cole is looking to make the summer his. But before that happens, he's got something else for his fans. After announcing on Twitter yesterday that his Truly Yours 2 mixtape would drop sometime today, he leaked the first track from the set. "Cole Summer" utilizes a sped up sample of Lauryn Hill and D'Angelo's "Nothing Even Matters," something that seems like it shouldn't work but does, as Cole raps about fears of the sophomore slump, getting his mother a house and (of course) all the trappings of new money. While none of these things are new for Mr. Cole, "Cole Summer" is a nice little jam to tide his audience over until the album drops (though he makes sure to note that this song isn't a preview of what to expect when Born Sinner is released). Check out the track and keep an eye out for Truly Yours 2 today.
