Laura Mvula Is Better Than 'Alright'

Striking is the word that immediately came to mind when I rested my eyes on the visuals for Laura Mvula's song "That's Alright." As the latest single from her sublime debut, Sing To The Moon, I was immediately fond of this song right from first thump of percussion, but I hadn't an inkling on how she was going to conduct a video for this track. Like the song itself, the highly artistic visual champions individualism, and Mvula gives off some serious shoulder shimmies and supermodel-worthy attitude as she struts her stuff with some very limber dancers and boldly states that she'll stand and fight for the right to be herself. You know, there are a lot of music videos out today that cross my path and sadly, they don't leave a lasting impression, but I can't lump this video in with that pack as Mvula creates a visual that is very pleasing to the eye as well as the mind.
