Jordan Rakei Makes Being 'Selfish' Sound Divine

There is an abundance of artists from Down Under who have a knack for making music perfect for the northern hemisphere's current summer heat, such as Fat Freddy's Drop and Electric Empire. Even though it's the middle of winter in Australia and New Zealand, we just can't help  but pretend it's a sizzling hot summer's day through chilled-out music. Here to prove that point further is Australian singer Jordan Rakei with his mellow reggae-tinged track "Selfish." This track is dripping with sweet summer vibes and is literally begging to be listened to with a cold one in your hand while sand embeds itself between in your toes. "Selfish" transports me to a beautifully peaceful place in my mind as it transcends the typical reggae song thanks to Rakei's captivating vocals and a smooth trumpet solo that adds an element of jazz to the affair.
