This year has already proven itself to be a banner year for soul and R&B, and it's nowhere close to over yet. However, this feast of musical riches is both a blessing and a curse. The blessing is obvious in that there's been a steady stream of damn good music keeping our ears occupied. The curse is that there's almost too much music to keep up with that it gets a bit overwhelming and some projects unfortunately just get lost in the sauce. I'm playing catch up now and remembered that Donell Jones released a new album last month that I still need to give a good listen to. His music video for the single "Beautiful" has reminded me to dive in. In the clip, Donell is joined by a few beauties, but there's one in particular who's the focus of his attention as he lets her know that her looks may be what attracted him but he's staying around for so much more. There's eye candy galore to be seen, but it's good to know that Mr. Jones isn't all about the superficial.
