Jessica Newry Flies Free Like A 'Butterfly' With Kalani Trinidad

Last time we heard from Jessica Newry, she taught us a lesson in everyday birthday celebrations. This time around she's taking a page out of the legendary book of Herbie Hancock to offer up this refreshing acapella rendition of "Butterfly." This song was originally featured on Hancock's 1974 Thrust album and then resurfaced in 1979 when Hancock teamed up with Japanese songstress Kimiko Kasai. With the help of Boston flutist Kalani Trinidad, Newry gives the song new life as her light and breezy vocals take on every element of the song. "And just like the butterfly I, too, will awaken in my own time," she says sweetly. As she prepares for the release of her debut album, Newry is offering this superb remake as a free download. Head over to BandCamp now and prepare to fill your day with this lovely tune.
