Psychedelic soul-funk trio The Stepkids have dropped the catchy track "Moving Pictures" from their sophomore release Troubadour, which was released this week on Stones Throw Records. If the aim of this tease was to get mouths salivating that little bit more in anticipation of the goodies that await on Troubadour, then mission accomplished; I am ravenous for more of The Stepkids! With its slap bass, synth heavy styling and husky vocals this is one track that will get you moving. The Stepkids channel your favorite late '70's and '80's funk bands on this number, leaving little doubt that you'll need to give Troubadour a spin and then catch these guys live. I was lucky enough to see The Stepkids put on an exhilarating live show in Sydney in 2012, however I'm out of luck this time around, which means you soul-loving northern hemisphere dwellers can catch The Stepkids as they tour the US and Europe over the next few months in support of the release.
