LA-based hip-hop producer, rapper and multi-instrumentalist Terrace Martin reinvents Drake's "From Time," which has been on the remake circuit since Nothing Was the Same's release. There's nothing to be afraid of in Martin's version, though, which is equally as beautiful and thoughtful as the original. After producing for and collaborating on straight hip-hop tracks with artists like Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Wiz Khalifa, this remix reminds us Martin can blow -- on his saxophone, that is. On the song, Martin gives us an intimate rendition and keeps it simple with drums, piano and sax to turn Drake and Jhené Aiko's complex hip-hop and R&B narrative into a breezy jazz tale. You won't find any vocals in the song, but Martin's sax skills make up for it.
