Last night's airing of the 2013 American Music Awards proved to actually be a good watch with a variety of artists who we actually dig taking the stage, which is often a rarity at these major awards shows. One of the show-stealing performances came early in the night when Ariana Grande sang her song "Tattooed Heart" and added more fuel to the bonfire of young Mariah Carey comparisons. From her form-fitting red sequined gown to her pitch-perfect vocals, Ariana was serving hot Mini Mimi on a platter. For her to have sounded so pristine live is no small feat in this day and age of Auto-Tuned to within an inch of their lip-syncing lives divas, but much like Carey before her, Grande handles her material with the greatest of ease. The soulful pop princess rightfully won the Best New Artist AMA last night and continues to win us over with her talent and skill.
