I don't know what it is about this holiday season in particular, but artists have been releasing new Christmas music at breakneck speed. Not a day has gone by since early November when I haven't heard a new Xmas song or five it seems. Here's another yuletide tune to make your season bright from multi-instrumentalist/producer/rapper Terrace Martin. The SoulBounce fave brings along Snoop Dogg and J. Black for the sleigh ride on "Christmas On Soul." Terrace holds it down on the instrumentals with some bomb saxophone while J. Black brings the smooth vocals (is this the same J. Black who sings background vocals for Teedra Moses or nah?) and Snoop raps in his signature laid-back style. Tying it all together and putting a bow on top is DJ Quik on production. With these four at work and bringing their various talents to the table, you really can't go wrong and they don't. As Christmas Day rapidly approaches, we welcome this opportunity get our two-step on to this original, soulful and funky holiday groove.
