Summer has come a wee bit early as Duke Dumont has ignored the fact that Jack Frost’s reign is in full effect to bring a few golden rays of aural sunshine into our winter bleakness with his latest single, “I Got U.” We all know that Dumont’s GRAMMY nominated “Need U (100%)” was one of THE biggest dance anthems of 2013, and it is a tough act to follow, but we shouldn’t doubt that Dumont would make sure to dive into the new year with an even bigger splash of sounds. With fellow producer and new Blasé Boys Club label signee Jax Jones, the two music minds collide on a sleek house romp that is dotted with steel drums, heated pianos and even a slight interpolation of Whitney Houston’s cuddly hit “My Love Is Your Love,” which all combine to surely provoke you to shed the down coat and grab a margarita. The Polar Vortex has got nothing on the trip to the tropics Dumont has laid out on this one.
