R&B music is back and NPR is beefing up their airwaves to celebrate our beloved genre. Having launched its brand spanking new “I’ll Take You There” channel, NPR Music has granted Jason King the opportunity to curate an around-the-clock R&B and soul jam session that celebrates the gift of rhythm and blues. This lively new party features songs from the likes of Aretha Franklin, Little Richard, Sylvester, Jodeci, Disclosure, Dinah Washington, Roy Ayers, Kelela and so many more old and new SoulBounce favorites. “It's all elemental — earth, fire, water and wind music for the body, spirit and mind,” said King, whom also serves as an Artistic Director and Associate Professor at Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.

After years of watching our music be overlooked and unappreciated, it feels good to see well-respected brands like NPR publicly show their love and admiration with ventures such as this. Whether you’re in your car, at home celebrating Valentine’s Day with your significant other or stuck at work, take a moment this weekend to jump into the groove of this soulful playlist and enjoy yourself.
