There's 'No Us, No Them,' Just Bernhoft & Jill Scott

News that uber-talented Norwegian one-man-band Bernoft would be releasing a new album this year was definitely music to our ears, but he then went ahead and upped the ante even further when news surfaced that he would be teaming up with the one and only Jill Scott on one of the album's cuts. Folks in the US will have to wait until June 24th to get their hands on Islander in its entirety, however his Jilly from Philly collaboration has leaked and it's even better than we imagined it would be. This is not your typical "featuring" slot with the guest relegated to singing hooks, no this is a full-on duet with the pair trading verses and harmonizing in all the right places, instantly bringing to mind classic pairings such as Donny & Roberta or Marvin & Tammi. Yes, it really is that good. Their voices meld together perfectly on the track's lush, '70s-style mid-tempo groove, and it definitely makes for one of the most satisfying duets we have heard in a very long time.
