For the past two years, DJ/producer Rafael Silva (aka Daft Duck) and DJ Fernando Martin Simões (aka Golden Kong) have combined creative forces as Arcade Fighters. Though they have officially branded their genre as "French Disco," no one label can contain the myriad of electronic music that they create. The São Paulo-based duo already have several original works to their credit,and (according to their profile) have released tracks through various labels worldwide, but they are best known for their remixes/edits.
Being a child of the '80s, New Edition was a big part of my childhood. So, “Mr. Telephone Man” is CLASSIC to me...no “editing” necessary. Luckily, Arcade Fighters don’t share my lack of vision. Their most recent track is "Mr. Telephone Man (Arcade Fighters Edit),” and it is all at once nostalgic, fresh and just plain fun. They took this R&B ballad and turned it into an electrified dance tune worthy of any discotheque. Something tells me that Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike and Ralph would be pleased.
