If 20 Feet From Stardom taught us anything, it's that for every talented artist in the forefront, there's an equally talented performer that's holding them down on backing vocals. ASH. is one such talent. A background singer for Janelle Monáe, ASH. has held the Electric Lady down quite nicely on the road, and now she's ready to step out on her own.
"Perfect," the songstress' debut single, is a nice introduction, with the sweet-voiced singer blending pop, jazz and R&B effortlessly on the track. On the song, the songstress and Cleveland native sings about a love that's perfect just the way he is. "You are so perfect, I just wanna look into your eyes/You don't have to be, all these things are extreme/Let's forget them an just enjoy the ride," she sings on the sugary sweet chorus that's sure to melt even the coldest of hearts. As far as first singles go, this one is definitely a keeper and sure to find a home on many a lazy Sunday afternoon playlist, as its mellow mood is perfect for sitting back and relaxing with the one you love.
