'Feel' The Beat With Miguel Migs' Latest Groove

Miguel Migs

San Francisco-based Miguel Migs isn't one of those "cue up a song on a computer"-type DJs. He's a musician who also happens to produce some of the grooviest deep house tunes heard at your local high-end lounge or dance floor.

But the truly rich and spoiled are we the fans, because as a treat for summer, Migs just posted a preview for a track named "I Can Feel It." The icing and sprinkles on the cake are the two remixes that have made their debut along with the original.

The “Original” edition of the song is party-ready, at once tribal in its percussion and repeated grunts as it is fluid with its steady beat of the tambourine and chopped-up hook. Meanwhile, the "Deep Salted Dub" synthesizes the primal elements into more cohesive hooks, but the track keeps ebbing and flowing to keep listeners engaged. Different still is the "Piano Love Mix," which is lusher in composition and boundless in its funk, which seems to more prominently feature in this remix that also highlights the ivory keys.

Though it's unclear if the tracks are part of a forthcoming compilation or meant to stand alone, it doesn’t really matter, because each is unique enough to keep in a repeating rotation.
