Diggs Duke Proves To Be 'The Pinnacle (Of Class & Taste)'

Diggs Duke Blue Red

Diggs Duke is a favorite around these parts, and for good reason. The singer and instrumentalist effortlessly combines soul and jazz in his work, creating a hybrid that's, well, music to our ears. Take for example his latest release, "The Pinnacle (Of Class and Taste)." Like Diggs' previous release, "Secrets Seem Rehearsed," it's lifted from his upcoming EP The Upper Hand & Other Grand Illusions, but this one is solely created by Diggs himself. Yes, that means everything you're hearing here is crafted by him and him alone.

And what you're hearing is lush and funky production full of little moments, like the twittering calm of the track's opening, the funky bass guitar and piano of the verse and the unexpected piano solo, that add up to one huge musical playground. But's it's not just the music that touches here. Diggs delivers a heartfelt love song while beautifully layering his slighty raspy vocals beautifully. As the song's title suggests, this is indeed the height of good music.

Take a listen to "The Pinnacle (Of Class and Taste)" right here and, if you're feeling this one (and how could you not be?), you should support this up-and-comer by pre-ordering The Upper Hand & Other Grand Illusions in advance of it's release on September 1st. Trust us, it would be money well spent.
