The Foreign Exchange Tell Their 'Exceptional Journey' With Courvoisier

It's fair to say that SoulBounce favorites The Foreign Exchange have had a pretty good 2014. They've celebrated the release of 2013's Love In Flying Colors with a world tour that we've been gifting bouncers with passes to all year, and now they've been profiled by legendary cognac brand Courvoisier. In Courvoisier's new web series, An Exceptional Journey, hosted by Chef Roble,  the transcontinental collaborators, Nicolay and Phonte, discuss their humble beginnings and how their love affair with music began, as Nicolay says, "I got exposed to music real early, through my mom who used to play records literally everyday, all day." The pair then divulge how they came to become The Foreign Exchange and the creation process for them, while they go digging in the crates and over a cognac (Courvoisier, of course). They also go on to drop gems such as that they recorded their debut, Connected, without ever meeting each other in person. While this and the tale of Nicolay and Phonte's meeting is a fact that fans of the duo know all too well, it still never ceases to be inspiring that a meeting on an online message board led to the progressive, genre-defying soul and R&B music that continues to stay on regular rotation here at SoulBounce HQ.
