SoulBounce fave Jessie Ware has been rolling out new music all summer long, building anticipation for the October 13th due date of her sophomore LP, Tough Love. To keep the momentum going, the UK singer now releases the album’s fourth single (fifth, if you count the bonus track “Share It All,” available on the deluxe version of the album), “Kind Of...Sometimes...Maybe.”

The track, co-written by Miguel and frequent collaborators BenZel, touches on those moments of regret and longing that inevitably arise after a breakup. Ware makes good use of her lower register to deliver a smoldering vocal, tinged with wistful desire. The “ex” (voiced by Miguel) seductively speaking in the background is a clever touch, adding to the mental picture of Jessie’s internal struggle to let him go.

Clocking in at a mere three and a half minutes, I kind of wish this song was longer, ‘cause I’m definitely feeling it. Listen for yourself and weigh-in on Jessie’s dilemma. And speaking of dilemmas, try to decide which version of Tough Love suits you best -- the original or the deluxe version -- both available for pre-order on iTunes.
