KING Brightens Up A New Orleans Record Store With A 'Supernatural' Performance

King In Record Store NPR

It appears that the NPR crew was quite busy during this summer’s ESSENCE Festival trip to New Orleans. First, they blessed the people with a clip of Jazmine Sullivan performing “Stupid Girls” during her awkward yet soul-stirring trip to a local barbershop, and now they’re giving us a peak of what happens when you open the doors of your record store to sister-troupe KING.

After discussing their astounding interactions with their musical mentor, friend and the almighty purple one Prince, Paris Strother, Amber Strother and Anita Bias break into a beautifully stripped-down rendition of their song “Supernatural.” While we are all enjoying “Mister Chameleon” and waiting for more from their long-awaited debut album, this performance is a lovely reminder of what we loved most about The Story EP. Press play and let these gorgeous songbirds brighten up your day as we continue to wait for their forthcoming album.
