The revolution will be turned into a music video and televised. Banding together again for a new album and now for an even greater cause, the Wu-Tang Clan is using their rhymes for good. In hopes of, according to the video description, "inspiring change and promoting unity throughout the world," Wu-Tang just released the title track of their new album A Better Tomorrow. In the video for the conscious single, you'll find footage of various protests and marches across the country strung together to give you a slice of the reaction to the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases. The single uses a sample of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes' "Wake Up Everybody" as each member of the group uses their bars to detail today's problems and politics to match the poignant message of the track.
With clips of a speech from President Barack Obama and footage of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr., the video comes together when the names of people who were unarmed when killed by police officers over the past few years scrolls up the screen. While the names don't encompass everyone, as clearly stated at the end of the video, it's enough to raise more than eyebrows and maybe even a few fists. Here's hoping this sets off a chain reaction among other artists who can reach the masses.
