For a minute there, we Stateside fans were feeling a little jilted when D'Angelo's The Second Coming Tour was announced without nary a U.S. date in sight. But who wouldn't be? D'Angelo, at once an elusive, reclusive R&B star, released one of the best albums of last year, if not his career, by surprise last month and has been the talk of the world ever since. Not to mention, Black Messiah hasn't left the rotation around SBHQ since the second it dropped. But now it seems that our boy D didn't forget about us after all.

Ahead of the February 11th start of The Second Coming Tour, D'Angelo — along with his band The Vanguard — has booked one night at New York City's famed Apollo Theater, the very same place where he made his Amateur Night debut way back in 1991, on Saturday, February 7th at 8 p.m. And since this occurs before his European tour, this concert is sure to be the first time that fans will get to hear a few of the selections from Black Messiah up close and personal.

Tickets for the event will be available first to Apollo A-List members this coming Monday, January 19th, at 10 a.m. and will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, January 21st at 10 a.m. If you're in the NYC area (or anywhere else in the US) we suggest you'd consider robbing both Peter and Paul (and maybe a couple other apostles) to get to this show. For more information about the venue and tickets, you can visit the Apollo Theater's website.
