American Idol season six winner Jordin Sparks is attempting to shed her girl next door image and forcing us to accept the fact that she is all grown up. While we first laid eyes and ears on the Arizona native back when she was 16, Sparks is now miles away from singing “No Air” with Chris Brown as she launches into her third studio album Right Here, Right Now. To prepare the world for this long awaited album she has dropped her new single, “Double Tap.”

This club-driven knock, which was originally featured on her #ByeFelicia mixtape, will surely serve as an anthem for this Instagram generation as it finds Sparks calling out her admirers and requesting that they show her pictures a little more love. “Don’t be scared to admit it / I seen you look from the start / On my Instagram you be looking / Secret looks on your phone,” she sings. Along with the hard-hitting beat and the guest appearance from Nancy Grace-slayer 2 Chainz, this record certainly offers something to add to your weekend turn up playlist. I only wish that the lyrical content wasn’t so juvenile, as Jordin isn’t doing a good job of proving her growth here.

Right Here, Right Now is said to feature production from DJ Mustard and Salaam Remi. Here’s to hoping that she gives us more gems like “11:11” and comes harder for the rest of the album’s material. For now, show Jordin Sparks some love and get into “Double Tap.”
