Shanice Makes Taking The 'Blame' Look Good

We're always happy to hear any new music Shanice sends our way. So when the R&B vocalist and new reality TV star released "Gotta Blame Me" late last year, we scooped it up without hesitation. We were impressed by the power ballad, written and produced by the multi-talented B. Slade. But to make sure we know the comeback is real, she recently unveiled the visuals for the song.

While we enjoy watching the relationship dynamic of Shanice, her husband Flex Alexander and their extended family on Flex & Shanice, we're more excited to see her back in music video territory. Amidst a desert landscape, director Logan Alexander wisely keeps the main focus on the singer as she reflects on the end of a bad relationship. Beautiful as always, Shanice convincingly puts her emotions on display, wearing what appears to be a tattered wedding dress (the symbolism is not lost on us). B. Slade also co-directed the visuals, providing choreography for the background dancing mimes. An unnecessary distraction, in my opinion, but visually interesting nonetheless. By the end, the R&B diva performs the ultimate "Boy, bye!" when relieving her left ring finger of its wedding band and strutting off into the desert in a killer pair of heels.

There's no word on a release date for her next album yet, but thankfully "Gotta Blame Me" is currently available for purchase on iTunes. Also, tune in to OWN on Saturday nights at 10 pm ET/PT for more Flex & Shanice.
