It seems that surprise music will remain the norm for now, not that we're complaining. The latest artist to sneak-drop new music is one of our favorite boho chicks, Jhené Aiko. However, with this go-round she's not giving us her usual boho chic, self-reflective sound. Instead, she's taps into her more carnal side to describe a hot rendezvous in "Living Room Flow."
Over an atmospheric Fisticuffs production, Jhené seductively initiates an encounter, cooing to her lover, "I'm so glad you called / Right on time, you must've just read my / Mind if we skip the small talk / Want you now." Well damn. Jhené is a take charge woman it seems. But just in case he gets confused about what's about to go down, she lets him know that this is solely a physical thing, so don't confuse it for love. "I don't want your heart," she sings. "I don't want your love / Just do what you do to my body."Jhené's breathy vocal paired with Fisticuffs' bedroom (or living room...or any room really) ready groove is enough to get anyone in the mood, making this one a shoo-in for future GTD playlists.
There's no word whether this one is a one-off or a sign of things to come. But with it sounding so good, who really cares? Slip into something comfortable (or, if you're at work, imagine that you are) and let this one ride out.
