Maybe brandon* and Jay Ellyiot really are from another dimension. How else can you explain the warp speed release of quality new music from the ENTRSTELLAR duo? In addition to exclusive original content (released through Roseville Music Group), they are killing it in the remix game. Inventively flipping the likes of Groove Theory, Daft Punk, J. Cole and Rick Astley, the partners have proven that they can put their spin on any given genre. And they're just giving away all these musical goodies for free? Yeah...these are definitely not your average earthlings, for sure.

Conspiracy theories aside, their latest refix is an addition to their ever-growing hip-hop catalogue. Having already tackled heavyweights like Pharrell Williams and Missy Elliott, the beatmakers decided it was time to go B.I.G. or go home. Reaching back into the '90s, they chose the chart-topping fan favorite, "Big Poppa," from The Notorious B.I.G.'s autobiographical debut album, Ready to Die.

Since this is a remix, it's no surprise that the soulful sample of The Isley Brothers' "Between the Sheets" got lost in translation. And though B.I.G.'s distinctive flow remains front and center, you can't help but notice that something else is missing. *Gasp* The chorus! Wait, wait, wait. You can't have "Big Poppa" without "I love it when you call me Big Pop-pa,"...can you? See, here's where ENTRSTELLAR proves their worth. A classic portion of the song may have been stripped away, but the duo's brilliant interpolations of smoky jazz, soulful strings and hip-hop beats are so satisfying that you might need a doggie bag for that "T-bone steak, cheese eggs and Welch's grape."
