Queen Mary J. Blige knows how to ensure her reign will last. After wowing us last year with the release of her 13th studio album, The London Sessions, she continued to impress us well into 2015 with videos, televised performances and a guest spot on FOX's Empire. Although Mary has always been raw and emotionally transparent in her music, her continued growth as an artist never ceases to amaze us.

Now, she takes it a step further with the upcoming documentary Mary J. Blige - The London Sessions. Set to debut on April 16th at Beacon Theatre during the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival, the film chronicles the creative process during the one-month period of recording the album. Directed by Sam Wrench, the 45-minute short will also feature behind-the-scenes footage of MJB and her talented UK collaborators Sam Smith, Disclosure, Emeli Sandé, Naughty Boy and Sam Romans. After the screening, audiences will be treated to a live performance by Queen Mary herself. Check out the official trailer below, then visit the Tribeca Film Festival website for additional information and to purchase tickets for the premiere.

DMV Bouncers, if you can't make it to NYC, you still have a chance to catch Mary on April 18th when she performs at the Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day event on the Washington Monument grounds. Hosted by will.i.am and Soledad O'Brien, the event will also feature an appearance by Common and performances by Usher, Fall Out Boy, No Doubt and others. The London Sessions is available for download wherever good music is sold, and a special edition signed vinyl copy is available for purchase while supplies last.
