It's been a few months since we've heard anything new from Elle Varner when she wondered "Where You Man Is." Prior to that January release, she dropped a steady clip of new material throughout 2014, but there's still no sophomore album in sight. While we impatiently wait for 4 Letter Word, Elle lets us know that we're not the only ones frustrated on her surprising new song "The End of the Beginning." What makes this song so surprising isn't that it just popped up outta the blue today, but it's a shocker that finds Varner rapping from start to finish.

And girlfriend's flow is pretty tight.

On "The End of the Beginning" Elle can be heard waxing poetic about life, love, sex, money and, of course, music. DJ Camper lays the foundation for her with his smooth, head nod-worthy production, and she rides the beat effortlessly. Varner spits thoughtful lyrics throughout like, "I ain't put out a song in a year / What if I bare my heart and soul again and nobody cares? / Blood, sweat and tears dissipating in the air, so unfair." Who knew that Elle Varner had bars like this?
