Word on the European streets...

German soul star Joy Denalane is working on a new album. I can't wait to hear what direction she'll be taking this time around. She gave a rather energetic performance alongside her husband, rapper/singer/guitarist Max Herre, during his Berlin concert. Denalane, Afrob, Megaloh, Samy Deluxe, Grace and one of my new favorite artists, Fetsum (who doubled as the opener), were the special guests of Herre's latest tour with the Kahedi Radio Orchestra. I think you will definitely find Herre's music very interesting because he sings in German (which I've found to not be so common for urban artists in Germany), and stylistically he seemlessly blends many different genres ranging from soul, hip hop, funk and pop. His latest Unplugged album features several guest artists including Gregory Porter. While Joy Denalane puts the finishing touches on her next collection, here's a video clip of her latest single "Keine Religion," the title track from the German film Traumfrauen [Dream Girls]. Keep up with all things Joy Denalane on her website and Facebook.
