With just one week left until the release of her sophomore album Blood, Lianne La Havas’ reign just won’t let up. She has already given us “Unstoppable,” “What You Don’t Do,” a special set of live performances on Spotify and a North American tour, and just in case all of that was not enough she is now dropping off one more single. “Green & Gold” is a mid-tempo groove that the London belle has dedicated to her beloved grandmothers. The introspective number is horn-heavy and finds Lianne evaluating her life, where she comes from and where she is looking to go. “Trying to dip my toes in the mirror / Thinking, ‘Who’s that girl and does the mirror world go on forever?’” she sings.

While she sings about remembering being a young girl and being uncertain of the future, Lianne is certainly where she is supposed to be and serving up her best self with this forthcoming album. Blood hits stores everywhere on July 31st, but if you pre-order your copy on iTunes now you will be blessed with early downloads of three songs including “Green & Gold” right now.
