While we all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, did you know this month is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month? The serious issue doesn't get as much attention as the larger causes, but with incidences on the rise and its potentially fatal effects felt throughout the country, it's definitely an issue that needs to be addressed. Newcomer and Dallas native Rachella happens to have a personal history with domestic violence and she shares her story with her latest single, "Gotta Go."

Over a warm, reggae-tinged rhythm, Rachella uses her strong, slightly raspy vocal to detail the situation. She's a woman at a crossroads knowing that she needs to leave the situation she's in but unsure of how to move forward. Her man is talking to her any kind of way and has even beat her, and now she's fed up. As organs swell and the bass bellows, she builds her resolve and makes it known that she's gotta get out of this painful love affair. The bold song, which comes early in the singer's career, is a statement that many can get behind.

Speaking about "Gotta Go," Rachella said, "What I want most is for this song to be encouragement or maybe even a wake up call to other women who are going through the same or similar domestic violence situations. There is a way out, and the decision is simply yours to make.”
