Following the release of her coveted junior project 25, Adele capped off the week with a perfectly-timed appearance on the latest installment of Saturday Night Live. Dressed in all black with a face beat to da gawds, the British powerhouse commanded the NBC Studios stage with solid performances of "Hello" and "When We Were Young."

On a darkened Grand Central Station-themed stage bathed in golden yellow lights, the singer commenced her set with an understated but brilliant performance of the lead single. While various artists have been slaying us with their own versions of the song, Adele still managed to delight us with her original take, endearing us even further at the end with an adorable silly face and a sigh of relief.

It was her second performance however, that marked the highlight of the evening. Once again backed by a full band and her pair of capable background vocalists, she delivered a stirring rendition of "When We Were Young." Reminiscent of a dramatic movie soundtrack, the lyrics came to life as Adele's voice soared with emotion and gave us chills. You can watch the full performance below and let us know if you're feeling the latest single.

Although Adele didn't physically appear in any of skits that evening, she played a major role in the show's first sketch "A Thanksgiving Miracle." Cast members (including Cecily Strong, Jay Pharoah and Aidy Bryant) and show host Matthew McConaughey played the part of a dysfunctional family barely making it through Thanksgiving dinner. Check out the clip below to see how Adele hilariously saves the day from their wanton bigotry. Afterwards, watch Adele team up with Graham Norton for a funny and heartwarming BBC prank on some unsuspecting Adele impersonators. 25 is currently available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon in addition to an exclusive edition available at Target stores nationwide.
